  • Dr. Karen Kortecamp:

    Dr. Karen Kortecamp is an Associate Professor of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development where she teaches and advises doctoral candidates in Curriculum and Instruction. For many years, Karen coordinated and taught in the school’s Secondary Education Program. Her courses in education policy and program evaluation are taught online. Karen has evaluated numerous education and philanthropic programs that include Digital Learning Applications for emergent readers, professional learning, and the Deutsche Bank’s Americas Foundation. She has expertise in conducting literature reviews, logic modeling, needs assessment, and evaluability assessment. Her research presentations and publications are in program evaluation, professional learning, and education technology.  Her Ph.D. is in public policy analysis from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Theory of change is a methodology for planning, participation, and evaluation that is used in companies, government sectors, education programs, and nonprofits to promote change. A defined theory of change will allow leaders to make more informed decisions about strategy and tactics.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Participants will learn how to map their organizations’ Theory of Change to achieve short, medium, and long-term goals using a Logic Model.
